About My Dayhome

In my dayhome I strive to create a loving structured, preschool-like environment where healthy eating habits, active outdoor lifestyles, caring, creativity and imagination were top priority. We have a fluid daily schedule to keep us active, busy and away from TV. We go to local parks and playgrounds daily, visit with other day homes regularly, go on field trips to various locations at least twice a week, we participate in intergenerational programs at local retirement homes, and at least once a week we head out for what we like to call “Forest School” where we do all our morning activities outdoors in nearby forested areas, local nature reserves and parks. The goal is to immerse the kids in nature as much as possible. Throughout our days my main goal is to help the children in my home strive to be their best selves. My hope is that each child will be able to feel safe and nurtured in a caring loving environment where they can, at their own pace, develop the skills necessary to thrive in the next chapter of their lives in kindergarten.
Kerry Morrison
Owner/Operator

I’ll admit, I was one of those parents who worried excessively about another person caring for my child but from the moment we found Kerry, all that changed. In my daughter’s 3 years at Budding Flowers she learned (amongst many things) social skills, the importance of community involvement, a love of science, to express a wide range of emotions, and to be accepted and loved for exactly who she was. The added bonus, she (and we) developed relationships with other kids and parents in our community. Some of my daughter’s most formative years were influenced significantly by her time at Budding Flowers and this positive foundation will follow her throughout her entire life. To say we hit the jackpot is an enormous understatement and we will always be grateful to Kerry!

Jennifer Berard MA-Registered Psychologist,

Words can’t describe how happy we are to have found Budding Flowers Day Home for our son. From the moment we met Kerry and her family,  we knew we wanted her to be a part of our lives and a key part in our son’s upbringing.  Knowing that our son is being taught the same values that are important to us, made the transition of going back to work a lot easier.  We love that Kerry makes a point to take the children on field trips (i.e. zoo, play-dates, visiting senior homes, etc.), because we know our son is getting to do all the things that we wished we could do with him while we are at work.   Kerry is very innovative and always coming up with different ideas for the children to be creative, getting involved and learning about our community, while having fun, focusing on education and being active.   We have enjoyed seeing how much our son has grown from the love and support Kerry (and her family) have provided him during this past year at Budding Flowers.    Her door is always open and she provides great visibility and communication on what she has planned for the children, as well as what they have been up to.  It’s always fun when parents are invited to join on field-trips and to attend special events, so we can experience the same fun and excitement our son does on a daily basis.  We only wish we could attend Budding Flowers too, so we could have as much fun as they do!
